Hello Alan, It seems like you are facing issues with installing the game "Medal of Honor: Airborne" after upgrading your video card to a GeForce 8600GT on your Windows Vista system. The behavior you described where the Windows Installer shuts down during installation can be frustrating. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve this issue: 1. Run the Installer as Administrator: - Right-click on the game installer file and select "Run as administrator" to give it the necessary permissions to make changes to your system. 2. Compatibility Mode: - Try running the game installer in compatibility mode: - Right-click on the game installer. - Go to Properties > Compatibility tab. - Check the box for "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and select an older version of Windows like Windows XP. - Apply the changes and try installing the game again. 3. Data Execution Prevention (DEP): - Since you've already tried adding the program to DEP exceptions, try disabling DEP temporarily to see if that helps. - Go to Control Panel > System > Advanced system settings. - In the Performance section, click on Settings. - Go to the Data Execution Prevention tab and either disable DEP for all programs or add the game installer to the exceptions list. 4. Update Graphics Drivers: - Ensure you have the latest drivers for your GeForce 8600GT installed. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause compatibility issues with newer software. 5. Check for Windows Updates: - Make sure your Windows Vista system is up to date with all the latest updates. Sometimes, updates can fix compatibility issues. 6. Check System Requirements: - Verify that your system meets the minimum requirements for the game. Incompatibility due to hardware limitations can cause installation failures. 7. Check for Known Compatibility Issues: - Search online for any known compatibility issues between the game "Medal of Honor: Airborne" and Windows Vista or the GeForce 8600GT. By following these steps, you may be able to get the game installed successfully on your system. If the issue persists, feel free to provide more details or reach out for further assistance. Good luck with resolving the installation problem!
