Windows 7 PlayReady?

Is there a reason to install PlayReady?

I'm confused, what is Play ready?

When setting up W7 Media Center there is an option to install PlayReady. I have been to Microsofts site and it basically sounds like more DRM but I am troubleshooting a problem and trying find out what the actual impact of installing PlayReady will be.
