Windows 7 Plz Help!!!

I am using windows 7 ultimate and the desktop would not show the wallpaper i choose even though the themes change but wallpaper would simply not display on the desktop only a blank screen with icon appears. Plz help wot should i do

try this

Try going to the system properties in the control panel. While viewing the screen with the Windows Experience Index, click on Advanced System Settings. Then go to the "Advanced" tab and click on the settings button under performance. Make sure Desktop Composition is enabled. If so, try a restart.
