Police on Friday arrested a man in connection with a string of burglaries near Campolindo High School in January.

Joran Taylor Furst, a 24-year-old parolee from Pacheco, has been charged by the district attorney's office with three counts of first-degree burglary and one count each of petty theft with prior convictions and possessing stolen property, Moraga police Chief Robert Priebe said in a news release. Furst was being held at Martinez County Jail on $400,000 bail.

Furst was arrested in Pittsburg by Contra Costa Sheriff's Office detectives looking into another case after Moraga police detectives obtained an arrest warrant following an investigation into the burglaries, Priebe said. Furst is suspected of breaking into three homes while their owners were sleeping, Priebe said.

On Jan. 8, officers in Moraga discovered a vehicle parked on Natlie Drive with a variety of stolen property in it, Priebe said. Police searched the area and found more stolen property abandoned on the hillside nearby, he said. After a short investigation, police obtained the warrant on Friday, and Furst was arrested in Pittsburg a short time later, Preibe said.
