I don't know if I'm being dim and missed a switch or something but I can't seem to arrange my windows on the desktop anymore so that they appear where I need them when opened ?

this is important to me as I am used to working in My documents and My computer simultaneously with those two windows appearing diametrically opposite, this always worked in win98 , winme , winxp and vista , although sometimes not consistently

I have a fresh install of WIN7 beta and have tried the technique of closing with the x while holding CTRL but nothings working to set it :frown:

Is there something I've missed here or is this a known bug ?

thanks for any help

Yer right. It don't.
Bloomin' nuisance if you ask me.
Two panes, esp with Explorer, is essential to my work style.

Try docking.
Hold down Winkey and press right/left arrow.

yes docking works in that instance but as soon as they are closed they reopen in the last place and size the last window was closed in , so if I close My computer then close My documents then reopen My computer it will reopen in the position and size that My documents was in
