Sometimes, my softwares like iTunes/Quicktime (that update notification window that pops up every now and then) and the one for my DivX Player, occasionally want to get updated, like once a month.

Each time this happens, is it technically filling up my hard disk space? Or is it replacing old files with new ones? Thanks I'm just kind of confused on this matter.

-edit- wow I did not see the software updates forum. please move this there.

Depending on the update, it can go either way - add something new or replace existing files. Or do both.

Agreed.. The difference depending on update can be negligible..

I've also moved this thread to support as it's a question about updates rather than an actual update itself..
