Windows 7 retail vista upgrade to windows 7?

if i made my own computer, and bought vista ultimate last year, would i be eligible for some kind of upgrade to windows 7?

A price break comes with all 'upgrade' versions, I believe...

Microsoft just gave away 500 copies of Windows 7 Ultimate. They might do it again, and if you sign up for their feedback program, you might catch it.
