Windows 10 saPlugin.dll

Recently, I have been getting an error dialog window that says:

"There was a problem starting saPlugin.dll
The specified module could not be found."

This error message occurs when I have opened a gmail account from a desktop icon for gmail, however it only occurs the first time gmail is opened. Subsequent openings do not result in the error message reoccurring.

Does anyone know what this particular .dll file is? and, how to repair the problem?

Have a great week.

I have not had a chance to edit my McAfee Antivirus Plus program yet to see if that corrects the problem.

I will let you know the results of that procedure.

Thanks. I found McAfee WebAdvisor was actually installed. I uninstalled it using Control Panel. I will now use the MCPR tool to uninstall all components and then reinstall. Thanks.

Hi TierneyJohn,
have you tried the removal tool Bochane links to in post #5?

Here's a freeware tool I find very good at removing left overs after uninstalling programs. The tool Henk suggests is the best, but even these tools leave a few files. This program will find any thing left over. Then you just left click the file and delete it.
