We are testing Windows 7 at our organization and I;m attempting to generate an image for our Dell Latitude D830 laptops similar to the XP platform. I'm at the last stage, prior to ghosting the drive, and I'm getting prompted with the following message:

Error Applying Security

An error occured while applying security information to:
C:\hiberfil.sys

The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

I click continue and it prompts me with the same message but referral to another file and/or folder (probably 30+ in total) on C:\. Does anyone have any suggestions to why this is occuring and a solution?

Thanks.

Appears to be a sharing violation... turn hibernation off .....

Click "Start" and type "powercfg -h off" (without quotes) and when
you press enter a screen with come up and disappear.

reboot and test

I would suggest that you run the "powercfg -h off" from a cmd prompt. I have seen on occasion the command fail and since the command flashes so quickly when run from the start prompt you may not see it.

If it completes you will just get a command prompt back, if it fails you will get an error message.

If it fails you have to go to control panel > power options and turn it off.
