When the PC ran under Vista, it worked with a HDMI connection to a Panasonic TV
I perform a clean install to Windows 7 Professional
The HDMI connection no longer works with any TV and not even to an external monitor

    ]Check HDMI Cable and Ports:
    • Ensure the HDMI cable is securely connected to both the PC and the TV/monitor.
    • Try using a different HDMI cable to rule out any issues with the existing cable.
    • Test the HDMI ports on both the PC and the TV/monitor to verify they are functioning correctly.
    []Configure HDMI as Default Output:
    • Right-click the volume icon in the system tray and select "Playback devices."
    • Set the HDMI device as the default audio output if required.
    [
    ]Restart Windows Audio Service:
    • Press Windows key + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
    • Locate "Windows Audio" in the list, right-click it, and select "Restart."
    []Try Different HDMI Port:
    • If available, try connecting the HDMI cable to a different HDMI port on your PC.
    • Some PCs have multiple HDMI ports, so testing different ports can help identify if a specific port is causing the issue.
    [
    ]Test with Another Device:
    • Connect the PC to another TV or monitor to see if the issue persists.
    • This helps determine if the problem lies with the PC or the original TV/monitor.
  2. Check TV/External Monitor Settings:
    • Ensure the TV or external monitor is set to the correct HDMI input channel.
    • Check the TV/monitor settings to verify that HDMI input is enabled and functioning.

      Additional Considerations:

      • Compatibility: Ensure the HDMI port on the PC is compatible with the TV/monitor.
      • Firmware Updates: Check for any firmware updates for the TV/monitor.
      • Reset TV/Monitor: Power cycle the TV/monitor by unplugging it for a few minutes and then plugging it back in.
By following these steps, you can troubleshoot and potentially resolve the HDMI connection issue between your Windows 7 Professional PC and the TV/monitor.
