Windows 7 Sound at start and sequence of Startmenu-items

Hello,
I have two questions:
1. Which DLL uses W7/64 for the sound at start-up of Windows? I would like to edit it for my own sound.
2. How can I alter the sequence of the entries in the Start-menu? Now the sequence is in sequence of creation, I would like to group them by applicationarea.
Who knows?

Hi

I use Windows Start Sound Changer, works like a champ...

How to Change Start up sound in Windows 7

WinAero: Downloads / Software / Startup Sound Changer - change your Windows startup

I've changed all my Windows sounds to my own.
All based on Lucy the animated character I use in my videos.

When I empty the Recycle Bin she says "Enough of this trash!" etc.

For you second question, I don't know but you might want to look at Classic Shell.

I use it all the time, it makes the Windows Start Menu work more like the one in Windows XP showing all your programs at the same time instead of having to scroll through the whole list to get to what you want.

I have over 100 apps installed do it's a real help to me.

Classic Shell

It also improves the way that Windows Explorer works getting away from having the folders jump up and down the list when you select them.
