I booted into safe mode and it is not functioning. So I can't get to msconfig to uncheck safe mode boot. Is there a way to access the advanced boot menu before booting into Windows? Used to be F8 but doesn't seem to work in windows 10.
Help please

Safe Mode on Windows 10 doesn't seem to work very well at this point, however:
Normally in safe mode in windows 10 you can still launch taskmanager by using Ctrl + Alt + Delete
From there you can go to the file menu and choose run new task and type
msconfig
and you should be able to change your settings from there.
Let us know if that works
Not functioning could mean a lot of things....
Not functioning at all? Or limited functionality?

Yes. Sorry. I think I misread your post. I understood you could not get into safe mode. But, as Trouble asks, exactly what is not, or was not, functioning
P.S. Later. Never mind. I see you have a full answer on another forum

9926 seems to have large problems with Safe Mode, seems to be related to a Video Resolution but not sure. However, the F8 option pretty much disappeared with Windows 8, so msconfig.exe or the Recovery options are about your only way under normal conditions.
