Hello

I bought student win7 offer from digital river.
Downloaded it to my mom's computer, extracted the file.
Copied those files to CD...put in in my laptop, set to boot from CD but it does not start the install.

It goes to Linux boot....I want to erase linux and install the window 7.

Is the student download a full version or did I not make CD correct?
After I extracted files I did not see any ISO file, so Just did straight copy to CD.

Thank you for any and all Help.

1. The boot priority in your bios setup should be set to your DVD drive
2. The image should be properly burned as it is with the boot sector present. Just copying files to disk manually will not do.
3. On computer start, it should say "Press any key to boot from CD/DVD"

Didn't you download a bootable image of 7, .iso or .img ?

cybercore,

for some reason the student version is different from the typical ISO image.

tblount has the answer for this one as I can't recall it myself.
