I recently went totally insane and installed Windows 8. Played with it for about 6 hours and decided to rename it El Crappo. I had full access to the net under Win 8, but when I reinstalled Win 7, I could not get access (through a router) to save my life. In prior reinstalls of Win 7, it had no problems automatically detecting the network settings. Now all I get is Unidentified Network. Tried all kinds of "solutions" (reset via ipconfig, etc.), but no joy. It isn't the router...my other comps have no problems accessing through it. I tried reinstalling Win 8 just to test and it detected the network just fine. Why would Win 7 crap out like this?. I can't stand Win 8...would rather go back to Win 95 than to endure their touchpad BS....er...OS.
