Windows 7 System Recovery

I have a problem I have installed windows 8 and now I can't do a system recovery. I have a black screen appears an operating wasn't found. I have the CDs for recovery system and I tried to turn on the laptop with the CD in.nothing happens n I need help.... Please comment... Thank you for reading.

A recovery CD can mean several things, is it a Windows 7 CD you made, or an OEM that came with the system to use the OEM recovery utility?

Do you have a Windows 7 install DVD or can you download one?

Can you get into the F8 repair options during start?
