Windows 8 system_thread_exceptsion_not_handled

Good Evening

I have taken the plunge and upgraded my Dell XPS to Windows 8 and just updated to 8.1

I was having issues with my display, I have a Samsung Syncmaster T220 but have managed to rectify that, the issue I seem to be getting though is when I am trying to install the ATI Drivers for my ATI Radion 3870x2 it seems to get part way through and then crash and comes up with a blue screen and the message

system_thread_exceptsion_not_handled

is there anything I can do as my machine is saying my drivers are out of date!!!

I believe I have found the error log entry for my issue so not sure if that can help diagnose my issue
