Hello, after checking older threads about this problem, I still could not find a way to fix it.
About a month ago my computer started giving me this message, and was disconnecting every few hours, usually when I download or stream. Lately the problem is much worse, the internet disconnects every few minutes, even if I am not downloading anything! (I cant even write this post for the computer, because everything works so slowly and disconnects so often).
I am connected through Siemens SL2 141 router (wired connection), my network adapter is Marvell Yukon 88E8053 PCI gigabyte. I have 3 other computers that are connected to this network, 2 wired 1 wireless, all of them are working fine. (running XP and not windows7, though for 2 years it worked fine).
I also included my spec.

Hope you can help,
Thanks!

Solution
It sounds like you're dealing with a challenging internet connectivity issue on one specific computer connected to a Siemens SL2 141 router. The intermittent disconnects can be frustrating, especially when they occur frequently. To address this problem, here are some troubleshooting steps you can take:

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Update Network Adapter Drivers:
    • Start by updating the drivers for your Marvell Yukon 88E8053 PCI gigabyte network adapter. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause connectivity issues.
    []Check Network Cable and Port:
    • Ensure that the Ethernet cable connecting your computer to the router is in good condition. Try switching to a different port on the router as well.

    • Resetting the TCP/IP stack can sometimes resolve network issues. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the following commands:
      Code:
netsh int ip reset netsh winsock reset
[]Disable Power Saving for Network Adapter:
    • In Device Manager, locate your network adapter, go to its properties, and disable any power-saving features that might be causing interruptions.
    [
    ]Scan for Malware:
    • Perform a full system scan for malware and viruses using reliable security software. Malware can sometimes interfere with network connections.
    []Check Firewall and Security Software:
    • Temporarily disable any firewall or security software to see if they are causing the disconnects.
    [
    ]Check Router Settings:
    • Log into your Siemens SL2 141 router's settings and ensure that the firmware is up to date. You can also try resetting the router to its default settings.
  2. Network Troubleshooter:
    • Use the built-in network troubleshooter in Windows to diagnose and attempt to fix network connection issues automatically.

      System Specifications:

    • Please provide the detailed specifications of your computer for further assistance. This can help in identifying any system-specific issues that might be contributing to the problem. After trying these steps, please let me know if the issue persists. If you can provide more information about your system specifications, it would be helpful for further troubleshooting.
