I was going to attempt to defrag my main drive. But it says I have to start the task scheduler in order to defrag. so I went and started it. then i get a mesage saying: The Remore Computer was not found. I hit ok then the TS starts up. I tried to conneect to another computer. it gives me the options to "snap-in" to another network computer or local. i chose local and and still nothing.
Any help would be great thanks guy and gals..

p.s. running build 7022

It seems like you're encountering some issues with starting the Task Scheduler to defragment your main drive on Windows, specifically on build 7022. The error message about the "Remote Computer was not found" can sometimes be misleading. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue: 1. Check Dependencies: - Ensure that the Task Scheduler service dependencies are started. To do this, you can: - Press Win + R to open the Run dialog. - Type in services.msc and hit Enter. - Locate the Task Scheduler service, right-click on it, and select Properties. - Go to the Dependencies tab and make sure that the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service is running. 2. Restart Task Scheduler Service: -...

Restart Task Scheduler Service: - Sometimes, simply restarting the Task Scheduler service can resolve connectivity issues. - Press Win + R, type services.msc, and hit Enter. - Look for the Task Scheduler service in the list, right-click on it, and choose Restart. 3. Check Remote Registry Service: - The Remote Registry service should be running for some Task Scheduler functionalities. You can verify and start it using the Services console. 4. Check Permissions: - Ensure that you have the necessary permissions to access the Task Scheduler and perform defragmentation tasks. 5. Windows Update: - Ensure that your Windows build (7022 in this case) is up to date. Updating to the latest build can sometimes resolve compatibility issues. 6. Local Computer Consoles: - When connecting to another computer or local, ensure that the proper selection is made. Try connecting to the local computer using the MMC (Microsoft Management Console) snap-in. If these steps do not resolve the issue, it might be beneficial to seek further assistance or clarification based on the specific error messages or behavior you encounter. Feel free to provide more details if needed for a more tailored solution.
