I'm looking for a new laptop and this Turbo Boost keeps appearing. I don't know anything about
this so is it worth it to have it on a laptop

Thanks

What is Intel® Turbo Boost Technology?

Intel® Turbo Boost Technology is a way to automatically run the processor core faster than the noted frequency. The processor must be working in the power, temperature, and specification limits of the thermal design power (TDP). This results in increased performance of both single and multi-threaded applications.

Hi enigma,
modern processors and graphic cards can do what's called 'Turbo boost'. This means they will at times reach higher speeds if the conditions are right. It's like a kind of mini overclock built in by the manufacturer.

This web page has a FAQ about Turbo boost:

Edit:

Sorry, you asked if it was worth having? Almost definitely.. :)
