Problem 1: Whenever I attempt to access to the LG Electronics website on my Win 7 machine, I get a security warning about downloading a file & the website is blocked. This is a recent issue & only occurs on my Win 7 computer. (My laptop is running Vista & I have no such issues w/ the site.)

Problem 2: I just got a replacement LG phone (VX8575) & the LG CDMA USB Modem Driver will not install. It was working previously & I was able to sync Outlook w/ the LG phone's (VX9600) calendar. Now I get a message that the driver has stopped working & upon attempting to reinstall either the old driver or upgrade to a newer version, I receive the following:
Component: Disk <1>
File Group: <Disk 1> Disk 1 Files (1)
File: <FILES APPLICATIONS>\
Error: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect.
Anyone have a clue as to what's going on? I've tried everything I can think of including disabling Norton Internet Security to no effect.

It seems like you are facing two distinct issues with your LG products on your Windows 7 computer. Let's address each problem separately:

Problem 1: Accessing LG Electronics Website

The issue you are encountering while trying to access the LG Electronics website on your Windows 7 computer could be related to security settings or potentially an issue with the website itself. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this problem:
  1. Clear Browser Cache: Sometimes, clearing the cache and cookies in your browser can resolve website access issues.
  2. Check Security Settings: Ensure that your security settings are not overly strict. You can adjust these settings in your browser's security and privacy options...

You can adjust these settings in your browser's security and privacy options.
  3. Update Browser: Make sure your browser is up to date. An outdated browser can sometimes cause compatibility issues with certain websites.
  4. Disable Antivirus/Firewall: Temporarily disable your antivirus and firewall software to see if they are causing the blockage. If you can access the website after disabling them, you may need to adjust their settings.

Problem 2: LG CDMA USB Modem Driver Installation

For the issue with the LG CDMA USB Modem Driver not installing properly on your Windows 7 computer, you can try the following steps:
  5. Uninstall Driver: Remove any existing LG CDMA USB Modem Driver installations from your system.
  6. Download Updated Driver: Visit the LG website or the manufacturer's support page to download the latest version of the LG CDMA USB Modem Driver specifically designed for your new phone model (VX8575).
  7. Run Driver Installation as Administrator: Right-click on the driver installation file and select "Run as administrator" to ensure the installation process has the necessary permissions.
  8. Compatibility Mode: If the driver is still not installing, try running the installation in compatibility mode for Windows Vista or Windows XP.
  9. Check Device Manager: After installation, check the Device Manager to ensure the driver is recognized and functioning correctly. By following these steps, you should be able to resolve the issues you are facing with accessing the LG Electronics website and installing the LG CDMA USB Modem Driver on your Windows 7 computer.
