Windows 7 Unable to launch Hotmail via WLM

Hi, just joined this forum and just recently installed Windows 7.

Happy i found a forum like this.

OK I am unable to launch Hotmail via Windows Live Messenger, whenever i click the mail icon nothing happens - same applies if i right click the WLM icon in the notification area and select inbox... Nothing happens!

This cant be a big problem for sure - i've tried Googling a solution but no luck unfortunately.

Can anyone help please?

This is the second hotmail problem I've seen tonight.... I'm wondering if something has been done since the big hacking that is causing these problems. Can you go into hotmail from hotmail.com ?

Yes i can access Hotmail by using the browser itself. Just not through WLM - it just doesn't respond at all.

I always used XP up until now and never had this problem, also it would open Firefox to view Hotmail without any add-ons etc.

This problem is now fixed.

I had to re-enable IE as default browser, disable it again and then enable Firefox as default browser.
