Windows 7 Unable to open files

I am getting this error message when I try to open files within Firefox.

"Windows cannot access the specified device, path or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions to access the item."

It's across the board, trying to open pdf, Excel, media files -- doesn't matter.

I'm running 7 Home on a Toshiba Satellite laptop with one user account set as administrator.

Finally found the problem -- I needed to change permissions on the 'temp' folder in Windows.
