Hi,

I'm on Time Warner wired modem, no wireless or router.

Using Win 7 Ultimate - 64 bit.

I've noticed that every so often I get a blue circle icon on the desktop around my "Internet Access" icon near

the clock. I can get on the web with or without the blue icon.

I have been having problems with Time Warner and my down load speeds. They say there's a lot of noise on the line.

Waiting for them to arrive as we speak.

I did loose my connection today for a very short time.

Can anyone explain what the Blue Circle means?

Thank you

The blue circle icon around the "Internet Access" icon near the clock on your Windows 7 desktop typically indicates that Windows is trying to establish a network connection or is currently communicating over the network. Here are a few common reasons why you might see the blue circle icon: 1. Network Activity: The blue circle indicates that there is ongoing network activity, such as data being transmitted or received over the network. 2. Connection Issue: It can also appear if there are intermittent connection issues, which could be related to the noise on your line that Time Warner mentioned. This could explain the problems you are experiencing with your download speeds. 3. Connection Status: The blue circle might...
3. Connection Status: The blue circle might also indicate that your system is attempting to connect to a network or is verifying its network status. Given that you are experiencing issues with your download speeds and have been informed about noise on the line, the appearance of the blue circle could be related to network connectivity problems caused by this noise interference. It's important to address the noise issue on the line as it can impact your network performance. The technician from Time Warner should be able to investigate and resolve this problem for you. If you continue to see the blue circle icon frequently even after the technician visit, it might be worth checking your network settings and troubleshooting the network connection on your system to ensure everything is configured correctly. Feel free to provide more details if you need further assistance or have any other questions!
