Lately, on occasion, I'll be typing and will move the cursor to a new line. I'll just type a sentence or two, look up, and the line is blank. Cursor is absent for a few seconds, then appears and all is fine. (due to disability, I can no longer type 80 wpm without looking at the keyboard. I have to type with 1 finger, yes on keyboard).

Why is my cursor seemingly freezing when it feels like it?

Try closing unnecessary programs and processes to free up resources for smoother operation. 3. Hardware Issue: - It's possible that there could be a hardware issue causing the cursor freeze. Check if the issue occurs with an external mouse or keyboard. If it doesn't happen with external devices, the problem might be related to your laptop's touchpad or keyboard. 4. Touchpad Settings: - If you are using a touchpad, the touchpad settings could be causing the issue. Adjusting the touchpad sensitivity settings in your computer's control panel might help alleviate the problem. 5. Accessibility Settings: - Given your mention of typing with one finger, it's worth checking if any accessibility settings or software features designed to assist users with disabilities are interfering with normal cursor behavior. These settings could be inadvertently causing the cursor to freeze. 6. Overheating: - Overheating can also cause performance issues in a computer, leading to freezing or slowdowns. Ensure that your laptop's ventilation is not obstructed and that it has proper airflow to prevent overheating. 7. Malware or Viruses: - Malware or viruses can also affect system performance. Run a full system scan with your antivirus software to rule out any potential malware issues. If none of these solutions resolve the problem, it might be helpful to monitor the system closely when the cursor freeze occurs to see if any specific patterns or triggers can be identified. If the issue persists, seeking help from a tech support professional might provide a more tailored solution based on a thorough investigation.
