uninstalling win7 without losing data

I have installed win7 x64 on a new hdd and installed most of the software that I had used on the old (pre rtm ) x86 installation. my computer is now in dual boot mode with the option of x64 or x86.

I now have complete confidence in the x64 version running everything and want to uninstall the x86 version without losing the data and programs on that drive.

Is there a way to do this or do I need to copy all of the files I want to save and then format the x86 drive.
