Computer is an Alienware M17 laptop with a fresh install of windows 7
Computer will BSOD randomly during gaming, sometimes when starting up netflix streaming
    Several dumps attached

I was going to try to debug myself for the first time but after I install the tools from here (on another computer): Debugging Tools for Windows 64-bit Version I can't find windbg in my start menu or anywhere else on the computer.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated

Hi sheletal and Welcome to The Forum.

    STOP 0x000000C2: BAD_POOL_CALLER
    Usual causes:
    Device driver, ?Memory

Your latest dump file lists RTL8187Se.sys as the probable cause. This is a Realtek Wi-Fi driver.
Old and incompatible drivers can and do cause issues with Windows 7, often giving false error codes. Random stop codes can often indicate hardware issues.

    As a Priority:

    RTL8187Se.sys Thu Feb 26 02:31:45 2009 Realtek wifi

AVG is known to be a cause of BSOD's on Windows 7 systems. Suggest that you uninstall it. Download the correct AVG Remover for your system (32 or 64 bit).
If you have AVG ID protection installed, download the AVGID Protection Remover from the above link as well (it wouldn't hurt to download and run it anyway). Download BSOD friendly Microsoft Security Essentials as AVG's replacement.
Uninstall AVG through the Control Panel. Re-boot to Safe Mode and run the AVG Removal tool(s). Re-boot to normal mode and install MSE. Make sure your Windows firewall is enabled! After your blue screens have been resolved, feel free to re-try AVG.

Drivers that pre-date Windows 7. Update:

    yk62x64.sys Mon Feb 23 15:02:27 2009 Marvell Yukon networking

    Drivers with Updates:

    RTKVHD64.sys Tue Oct 06 11:51:17 2009 Realtek HD Audio R2.67

When attaching dmp files, PLEASE put them all in a single zipped folder

Let us know how it goes. If you get further problems with blue screens, attach your new dump files and details and we'll move on from there.

Also, are you using dumpchk to examine these files? Any idea why I wouldn't see it anywhere on my computer after installing from the above link I mentioned?

I am not completely clueless when it comes to troubleshooting but this just has me stumped.

The RTL8187Se is being blamed (in both) again with the same stop error code. The latest (??) has an Oct. 2009 date

    Yes.
    No. :D

Have you done a search for windbg.exe? TBH, I install mine in the Windows folder as it's where I keep my symbols files, so I cannot remember what the "default address" should be.

    Code:
    *******************************************************************************
    *                                                                             *

Well, I did search for windbg, the install isn't creating the folders or anything. Anywho, I'll figure that out on my own.

Moving on, I am attempting to troubleshoot this issue over distance for a friend so It's tough for me to know she is following the steps correctly.

When googling "RTL8187Se.sys" and "alienware m17",
I can see there are plenty of others that are having the same issue after upgrading their M17 from Vista to Win7. I was hoping I was on to something but nobody has posted solutions in those cases. My guess is that Alienware has Vista-specific drivers that don't play well with Win7 (since we know that laptop manufacturers would rather have you buy a new computer than upgrade your operating system)

I don't know if it will help but, I'm going to try disabling the wireless adapter and continuing operation to see if the issue persists.

Thanks again for all the help, at the very least, you have given me a place to start looking.

Have you thought of using TeamViewer? then you can "take over" the PC in question.

I am having her try some other realtek drivers but if that doesn't work, we will give teamviewer a shot so I can take a closer look.

I found out the windows sdk just isn't installing for me, it created a log file of whatever issues it had but sounds like quite a few others have this issue and fixes involve piddling with the registry.

Do you know of any alternatives to windbg other than debug analyzer?
