Windows 7 upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 7, without loosing anything?

Hopefully you've found a solution to your problem by now, but in case not - please have a look at this page: Upgrading to Windows 7? Things to consider
There are certain upgrade paths which require you to do a clean ("Custom") install where you need to back up everything and wipe the entire hard drive, and there are others which don't. Find your upgrade path on the chart and let us know if you have any questions.
