Hello.
Thank you in advance for your advice.
In vista if I connected usb camera it would show in devices & give me autoplay choices to import photos etc.
In 7 the camera drivers install & show as device in explorer, but no autoplay menu, in fact nothing further happens.
If I go to CP options for media, camera doesn't show as device there which it used to with vista.
Is this a 7 thing?
How can I get this functionality back?
TIA,
LA

    []Device Manager Check:
    • Open Device Manager (you can press Windows Key + X, then select Device Manager).
    • Look for your USB camera in the list of devices. If it's not there or has an error symbol, you may need to update the drivers for the camera.
    [
    ]Update Camera Drivers:
    • Right-click on the USB camera in Device Manager and select "Update driver."
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to search for updated drivers online. If no updates are found, you can try reinstalling the drivers.
    []Reinstall the Camera Drivers:
    • You can uninstall the camera drivers from Device Manager by right-clicking on the camera device and selecting "Uninstall device."
    • After uninstalling the drivers, unplug the camera and restart your computer.
    • Plug the camera back in, and Windows should automatically reinstall the drivers.
    [
    ]Reset Autoplay Defaults:
    • In the Autoplay settings, you can click on "Reset all defaults" to return the Autoplay settings to their default state.
  2. Third-Party Software:
    • Consider using third-party software that provides similar functionality for importing photos from your USB camera.

      Additional Notes:

      • Windows 7 might not handle autoplay the same way as Windows Vista did, so some changes in behavior are expected.
      • Make sure your USB camera is functioning correctly by testing it on another device if possible.
Try these steps to see if they help restore the autoplay functionality for your USB camera on Windows 7. If the issue persists, let me know for further assistance.
