I am using Micromax 300c EVDO modem ( Datacard ) for wireless broadband connection.

1. In one machine having Intel 915 Chipset motherboard, it is working fine. In the device manager, in the modem category, it shows correctly as " CDMA 2000 Rev A Modem ".

2. In another machine, having Intel DG41TY motherboard, the device manager does not show modem. Only in other devices category, shows as Data services. ( in ports category both diagnostic and service ports are shown correctly )

Both systems have Windows 7 ( 32bit ).

Any solutions will be appreciated.

Does the mobo in question have all the latest drivers installed...chipset, LAN drivers, modem drivers? Not from windows but from the vendors (makers of each hardware component) themselves.

Having a quick google search on that modem, it looks to only supports W2000, XP and Vista OS's.

Thanks for your immediate reply.

Yes the motherboard drivers are upto date.

This EVDO card is manufactured during Q4 2009, when the Windows 7 also released ( I believe ). So Micromax might not have interested about Win 7. Even they are not much interested in driver support with their website.I have sent mail also to them a year back, with no response.

Not only works fine in other 915 motherboard ( windows 7 ) but also in another Dell laptop.

Anyhow thanks for your reply.

Finally I have settled the issue ( around the neck ), by installing " Windows 7 Virtual PC with Win XP mode ".
