Hello,
I would just like to know if it is possible for two PC's each on a different wan ip, and both running windows 7, to connect to the
same homegroup, or if they must both be on a LAN.

Hello,

After doing a fair amount of checking around, it appears that homegroup member machines must be on the same subnet. So it would appear that without a pretty complex router to router vpn solution involving some double natting and equipment at both ends, and a provider that supported IPv6 encapsulation (IPv6 mandatory for HomeGroups) it looks like the short answer is no. Good question though and maybe someone else will have more information

Thanks for checking on that, think i'll leave setup as is no real need for homegroup at the moment. :)
