More than 20 Virgin Blue staff and managers from Sydney and Brisbane airports have been sacked for repeatedly using the airline's computers to view and swap pornography.

The airline said the staff had been "terminated" this week after ignoring at least one warning about breaching the company's code of conduct regarding inappropriate internet use

"We absolutely do not tolerate any misconduct," said public affairs manager Danielle Keighery. "They were not face-to-face staff responsible for dealing with customers."

Sources close to the airline said those involved were mainly baggage handlers who repeatedly used work computers in offices and staff rooms to watch pornography and then swap material deemed "good".

The source said managers were present at the time and were also involved in viewing and swapping the material.

"The movies were hardcore triple-X," the source said.

"There were so many caught on the same shift they [the airline] could not suspend them due to having no staff to replace them."

Ms Keighery declined to comment on whether those involved were baggage handlers or whether they or their managers were involved in swapping the pornographic material.

She said an email had been sent out across the company last Wednesday "reminding staff of their obligations".

"We have very clear code of conduct for all our staff that gives guidelines around computer usage and the appropriate use of the internet."

She said all of the 20 staff had been notified of their termination within the past two days

I guess they were just jealous of the cabin crew who get all the "real" action...lmao
