Is it possible to remote desktop connect from a 32-bit Vista SP1 computer (6.0.6001.18000, dated 1/20/2008) (where all 7 checkboxes on the Experience tab are checked on) to a 32-bit Windows 7 RC (7100) computer and have the Windows 7 Aero theme enabled? (Both computers can run Aero on their local desktops and show "Desktop performance for Windows Aero" in the Windows Experience Index for the Graphics component).

Solution
Yes, it is possible to remote desktop connect from a 32-bit Vista SP1 computer to a 32-bit Windows 7 RC computer and have the Windows 7 Aero theme enabled during the remote session. Here are a few things to consider: 1. Compatibility: Both Vista SP1 and Windows 7 support the Aero theme on their local desktops as indicated by the "Desktop performance for Windows Aero" in the Windows Experience Index for the Graphics component. This is a good sign that the Aero theme should be usable during a remote desktop session. 2. Windows 7 Remote Desktop: Windows 7 comes with an improved Remote Desktop feature that allows for better remote desktop experiences, including support for the Aero theme during remote sessions. 3. Bandwidth and Network Speed: The performance of the Aero theme during a remote desktop session can be influenced by the network speed and available bandwidth. For the best experience, a stable and reasonably fast network connection is recommended. 4. Settings: Both computers should have the necessary settings configured to allow for Aero theme support during remote desktop connections. This includes ensuring that the appropriate checkboxes for the Experience settings are selected on the Vista SP1 computer. Given that both computers can run the Aero theme locally and meet the Windows Experience Index requirements, there is a high likelihood that the Aero theme will be available and functional during a remote desktop session from the Vista SP1 computer to the Windows 7 RC computer. To ensure the best experience, make sure both systems have all the necessary updates and drivers installed for optimal performance during the remote desktop connection.
