    Hi,
My volume control is missing from the system tray. It was there earlier and when i rebooted it never came up. Also, in the "show or hide volume icon on the taskbar" the volume control os blaked out and off. I could not activate it from there. Any suggestions?
    Thanks,
    Adam

How to restore and activate VOLUME CONTROL on taksbar windows 7

Simple enough if the person gives ALL the directions. Go to control panel and then to taskbar. Hit notification area tab.
go to speaker symbol. on drop down HIT SHOW ICONS . IF YOU HIT OK YOU WOULD THINK IT WOULD WORK, RIGHT?
NO,,,,,FIRST YOU MUST RESTART YOUR COMPUTER, which many pinheads in responses when I found out by myself NEVER MENTION!! NOW YOU SHOULD BE SET.

PS. TO BE SAFE; SHUT COMPUTER DOWN COMPLETELY , then re start .

    volume control

Thanks for your response but I had done that a long time ago. I ended up calling Microsoft and, although they fixed the problem, my computer got screwed up badly by the support technician. They are awfull and everybody should stay away from them, if at all possible.
    Thanks just the same.
