Windows 7 Wallpaper, no taskbar

Hi all,
I've just got new PC with Windows 7 on it and it is reluctant to boot fully.
I get windows wallpaper, and no taskbar or icons. Right clicking brings up the screen settings box, but nothing works.
Repeated hard boots eventually allow a full boot and a normal windows session, from wiich IO am reluctant to switch off.

Any clues please?

If it's a new machine then I'd contact your supplier before doing anything yourself.. Although you could try either 'System restore' or press F8 when booting and try 'last known good configuration'.

sounds like a explorer.exe problem on the first boot see if you can try pressing ctrl +alt + del at once to come up with the task manager if you can in task manager where it says file at the top left highlight new task and type in explorer.exe hit enter and see if it loads
