I use Media Center to play and rip CD's. Is this some type of malware protection mechanism? Is it a glitch? Will it be addressed later in a service pack? I love Media Center. I try to use it whenever possible but especially for playing and ripping cd's. For now, under start>default programs>change autoplay settings>audio cd, I have chosen Media Player, but I hope you can fill me in on how to add a Media Center option. Thanks.

Just right click on it, send shortcut to desktop. Click on it when you need it... No reason to have it auto start as its not always needed. MS did a great job cutting back on some unnecessary resources running in the background.... So embrace that and open stuff up when you need it vs being shoved down our throats when we don't.
