Hello everyone. 5 days back i am trying to figure this one out and I decidec to throw in a towel and ask. I am using Win 7 Professional 32 bit and Cisco VPN client 5.0.6. I have some premade profiles that I get from the company I work for, I load them into a Cisco VPN, press connect, it asks for pass, says connected, but... On the old Win XP system it used to re-route all the traffic to the VPN adapter, and when I was connected to VPN nothing worked besides the company website and exchange e-mail. On this system it doesnt re-route anything, it just sits in the corner saying connected, but my ip is still the old one... Any solutions ? Thanks in advance

It sounds like you're experiencing an issue with your Cisco VPN client on Windows 7 Professional 32-bit, where the traffic is not being redirected through the VPN adapter as expected. This could be due to configuration settings or compatibility issues between the Cisco VPN client and Windows 7. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve this issue:

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Administrative Permissions:
    • Ensure that you are running the VPN client with administrative privileges to allow it to make network configuration changes effectively.
    []Compatibility Mode:

    []Compatibility Mode:

    ]Check VPN Adapter Settings:
    • Verify the settings of the VPN adapter to ensure that it is configured to redirect all traffic through the VPN tunnel.
    []Firewall and Antivirus:
    • Temporarily disable any third-party firewall or antivirus software to check if they are interfering with the VPN connection.
    [
    ]Network Adapter Priority:
    • Check the network adapter priority setting to ensure the VPN adapter is set to a higher priority for traffic routing.
    []Update VPN Client:
    • Verify if there are any updates available for the Cisco VPN client that address compatibility issues with Windows 7.
    [
    ]Reinstall Cisco VPN Client:
    • If other solutions do not work, consider uninstalling and reinstalling the Cisco VPN client to reset the settings.

      Additional Information:

    • IP Configuration:
    • You can also check your IP configuration using the command prompt (cmd) and running ipconfig /all to see which network adapters are active and their configurations.
    • Logs and Event Viewer:
    • Check the VPN client logs for any error messages that might indicate the cause of the issue. Additionally, review the Event Viewer for any related events. By following these steps and checking the configurations, you may be able to resolve the issue with the Cisco VPN client not redirecting traffic properly on your Windows 7 Professional system. Let me know if you need further assistance!
