I recently purchased a Lexmark wireless printer, the spftware was vista I downloaded the new Win 7 software. Inastalled everything no isues and use Verizon 3G wireless for internet access. I tried to set up a pier to pier network to communicate with the printer. Mu computer network connection in the icon box says" waiting for connection". I hook up the usb cable to the printer and follow install directions but it will not connect, (the printer cannot connect with the laptop). I created the network name with PW and it apperars to be ok on the laptop. I also had an old netgear wireless system I used when I had cable. Set it up and the printer was able to connect with the wire less along with my laptop but I was still unable to print wirelessly. More than likely I am just another loose nut behind the keyboard any suggestions or help is appriceiated.

    • Ensure that the wireless settings on the printer match the settings of your network, including the SSID and password.
  4. USB Connection:
    • If you are having trouble connecting wirelessly, try temporarily connecting the printer to your laptop using a USB cable to see if the printer is recognized.
  5. Firewall and Antivirus:
    • Disable any firewall or antivirus software temporarily on both your laptop and printer to check if they are blocking the connection.
  6. Network Configuration:
    • Make sure that both the printer and laptop are on the same workgroup within the network settings.
  7. Router Configuration:
    • Log into your wireless router settings to ensure that the network is set up to allow communication between devices.
  8. Printer IP Address:
    • Check the printer's IP address to ensure it is correctly assigned within the same subnet as your laptop.

    • If all else fails, consider resetting the printer to factory settings and reconfiguring it from scratch.
