I have a Acer Aspire 5336 notebook, 1 year old, came with Windows 7 on it. It won't boot, it keeps trying to go to Startup Repair and it never gets anywhere. I tried booting from the Windows 7 DVD to make a repair but the same thing happens, it gets to a black screen with nothing but the mouse showing. The mouse can move but nothing else happens. I try a CTRL+ALT+DEL for the task manager or for it to restart, but usually i have to do a hard shut off and restart. I'm lost at this point. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The specs for the notebook are Intel Celeron Processor, 4GB RAM, 250GB HDD.

You didn't mention if you could get to bios screen. If you can you could try resetting the BIOS to default, or optimal default. If this does not work try if easily accesible removing the BIOS battery to see if it helps
