Windows 7 win7 upgrade w/ program files partition

I'd like to install Windows 7 from the 32-bit Vista-to-7 Upgrade CD.

Currently my Program Files exist on a partition separate from that which contains my OS files. If possible, I'd like to leave things as they are (reinstalling my programs would take quite awhile). When I run the Upgrade Setup file, I receive a message informing me that all of my files must reside on the same partition.

Is there a known workaround?

An upgrade is not the route to take. It leaves useless files on your system and can cause conflicts.

Save all you Documents, Pictures, contacts, videos, music, etc to a flash drive,

Be aware, you will need to re-insatllall your 3rd party applcations.

Thanks for the response. I realize that a clean installation is an option and I'll take this route if need be, but for now I wonder if upgrading windows without reinstalling third-party applications is possible. I would rather not repartition my hard drive and essentially reorganize my computer from scratch.
