New Windows 11 Insider Preview Builds 22621.741 & 22623.741 Released

Hello WindowsForum.com members, Exciting news for Windows enthusiasts! Microsoft has just released Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 22621.741 and Build 22623.741 (KB5018503) to the Beta Channel. Let's dive into the details of these new builds and what they mean for you. Key Highlights:
  • Build 22623.741: Contains new features that are currently being rolled out.
  • Build 22621.741: Features are turned off by default. For those on Build 22622.601 who haven't seen Build 22623.730 yet, a simple reboot should prompt the new build.

    Detailed Insight​

    Enablement Package Overview: Those previously on Build 22622 will transition to Build 22623 via an enablement
    package. This package simply increments the build number, distinguishing between devices with new features on versus off. This method is exclusive to the Beta Channel and doesn't indicate any future updates for final releases.

    Fixes in Build 22623.741​

    Tablet-Optimized Taskbar Fixes:
  • Resolved issues causing the taskbar to collapse unexpectedly when no windows are running.
  • Fixed overlapping or truncated Widgets or Notification Center when using edge gestures.
  • Addressed crashes in explorer.exe when entering the overflow flyout in the tablet-optimized taskbar. System Tray Updates:
  • Quick Settings items can now be rearranged via touch.

    Fixes for Both Builds 22621.741 & 22623.741​

  • An issue
    with Server Manager resetting the wrong disk when multiple disks shared the same UniqueId has been fixed.
  • Localization issues in setup files, preventing the creation of installation media for non-English languages, have been addressed.

    Known Issues​

    General:
  • Audio issues have been reported by some users on recent Beta Channel builds. Tablet-Optimized Taskbar:
  • The taskbar may flash during transitions between desktop and tablet postures.
  • Transitioning to a touch-optimized taskbar can take longer than expected.
  • Quick Settings accessed via the bottom right edge gesture may cause the taskbar to remain expanded.

    About the Beta Channel​

    The Beta Channel previews experiences close to
    what will be available to general users. It runs parallel with the Dev Channel, meaning features may debut in either one. However, not all features tested in the Beta Channel will be released.
