Hello WindowsForum community! Exciting news from the Windows Insider Blog—Windows 11 Insider Preview Build 25324 has been released to the Canary Channel. This build brings a host of new features, improvements, and some intriguing changes. Here's a detailed look at what's new and what it means for us as Windows enthusiasts.

### What's New in Build 25324

Evolved Widgets Board

Microsoft is beginning to preview a revamped Widgets board experience. The new design features a larger canvas with dedicated sections for widgets and feed content, providing clear separation between them. This update aims to offer quick access to information and personalized news content. Currently, this feature is rolling out gradually, so not all Canary Channel insiders will see it right away.

USB4 Settings Page

A significant addition in Build 25324 is the USB4 settings page, located under Settings > Bluetooth & devices > USB > USB4 Hubs and Devices. This page offers information about USB4 capabilities and connected peripherals, making it easier for users to troubleshoot with OEM support. To confirm USB4 capability, look for “USB4 Host Router” in the Device Manager.

Unsafe Password Copy and Paste Warnings

Starting from Windows 11, version 22H2, Enhanced Phishing Protection in Microsoft Defender SmartScreen offers additional protection. This build introduces warnings for unsafe password copy and paste actions, similar to typing warnings. This feature is also rolling out gradually to monitor feedback.

Introducing SHA-3 Support

Build 25324 adds support for the SHA-3 family of hash functions and SHA-3 derived functions like SHAKE, cSHAKE, and KMAC. These algorithms have been integrated through the Windows CNG library, enhancing security capabilities.

### Changes and Improvements

Widgets

Animated icons are being introduced for Widgets on the taskbar, triggered by actions like hovering or clicking on the Widgets entry point. Initially, only weather and finance icons are supported.

Search on the Taskbar

The search box in Windows 11 will include a button for the new Bing chat experience once available. If you haven't gained access to the new Bing, a dynamic search highlight button will appear instead. This feature is gradually rolling out to insiders.

Input

Microsoft has updated Simplified Chinese fonts and the Microsoft Pinyin IME to support GB18030-2022, allowing for more extensive character support.

Settings

Microsoft is in the process of deprecating the Microsoft Support Diagnostic Tool (MSDT) and redirecting troubleshooters to the new Get Help platform. Additionally, users with multiple Windows Hello cameras can now select their preferred camera in Settings.

File Explorer

Performance improvements are implemented in File Explorer, particularly during the "calculating" phase when sending multiple files to the recycle bin.

### About the Canary Channel

The Canary Channel is designed for testing platform changes requiring an extended lead time before customer release. It includes cutting-edge features and updates fresh from development with minimal initial validation and documentation. Builds in this channel may have significant issues, so they are ideal for enthusiasts who enjoy exploring new features early.
