Microsoft has just rolled out Windows 11 Build 22621.457 (KB5016695) to Insiders in the Release Preview Channel. Enhanced Microsoft Defender for Endpoint: The ability to identify and intercept ransomware and advanced attacks has been significantly boosted. Server Message Block (SMB) Compression: Now, files are compressed regardless of size when SMB Compression is configured, improving overall efficiency.
Improved Storage Replication: Enhancements have been made to storage replication, particularly beneficial for low bandwidth or congested wide area networks (WAN).

Resource Usage History: You can now view the usage history for several resources directly from the Settings page. Navigate to Settings > Privacy & Security to check the history for:

  • High CPU Usage by sihost.exe: Certain cases of high CPU usage by sihost.exe have been resolved.
  • Microsoft Edge in IE Mode: Fixed responsiveness issues and dialog interactions in Microsoft Edge when using IE mode.
  • App-V Client Service Memory Leak: Resolved a memory leak issue when deleting App-V registry nodes.
  • URL Length Limitation: Increased supported URL length from 2084 to 8192 characters.

    Fixed an issue preventing codec updates from the Microsoft Store.

  • Nonexistent SID Lookup Error: Addressed lookup errors for non-existent security IDs from the local domain using read-only domain controllers (RODC).
  • Storage Migration Service (SMS) Inventory Completion: Fixed issues preventing SMS inventory completion on servers with numerous shares (ErrorId=-2146233088).
  • Sync Across Devices Option: Ensured the option under Settings > System > Clipboard remains enabled.
