Windows 7 and problems with iTunes

I just got a new computer and transferred my iTunes from Windows XP to my new computer which has Windows 7. Everything works fine in my iTunes except it won't import CDs. I tried to change the compatibility mode under preferences in iTunes but Windows 7 is not listed as an option in the drop down menu. It is still stuck on Windows XP (my old computer compatibility). I think maybe this might be the problem but I don't know how to change the compatibility when it isn't an option.

I've also reinstalled iTunes twice (64 bit for windows 7) thinking it would fix the problem, but it hasn't.

Any ideas?
