Hello,
I've been getting this for about 8 trys of installing windows 7. I've tried searching the internet for fixes or solutions but Microsoft seem to be only supporting Vista for this. I'm currently running on Windows XP Home edition SP3. I've been doing a clean install/Custom install for all trys.
Can anybody help? This was my christmas present and to be honest it's probably the worst

Did you check the last several entries of the setupact.log and see anything strange?
Something is probably hanging like a driver for some device, or maybe even the video driver.
Just for the heck of it, try taking the DVD out prior that the problem time.
Did the compatibility checker show any problems?
Does you system have a recovery partition or recovery procedure that might be kicking in?
Have you tried uninstalling anti-viruses?
