I have a custom built laptop (Compal JHL90) and currently have a dual boot of windows xp (32 bit) and windows 7 professional (64 bit). I have an Nvidia 9600 GT graphics card installed in the laptop however when I downloaded windows 7, the graphics card is detected as a standard VGA adaptor. I tried to update the driver however windows 7 tells me I already have the latest drivers. XP seems to be picking it up fine. I have downloaded the latest drivers for windows 7 64 bit off the Nvidia website but when I install it, I get a message: 'You cannot install a 64 bit driver using a 32 bit system'. This does not seem to make sense as I have installed a 64 bit opertaing system........can anyone help? thanks.
