Thought I was in the software section when I posted this, please move the thread.

Windows 7 Evaluation Copy Build 7100

Both in Firefox and IE I cannot use the save as function. In firefox I cannot even backup my bookmarks to try uninstalling and reinstalling it again. Below you can see how the save as window looks.

In IE 64-bit I can use save as normally though. Also disabling the visual theme in firefox does the trick.
In addition to that windows live messenger stopped working out of the blue (I think I hadn't even installed anything during those days) and all I get as a response when it can't connect is an error code 800706be about which I cannot find much.

It seems like you're experiencing some issues with the save as function in Firefox and Internet Explorer, as well as with Windows Live Messenger on a Windows 7 Evaluation Copy Build 7100. Here are some steps you can try to address these problems:

Issues with Save As Function in Firefox:

  1. Firefox Save As Issue:
    • Try backing up your bookmarks in Firefox by following these steps:
      • Open Firefox and click on the "Library" icon (the icon with three horizontal lines) in the top-right corner.
      • Click on "Bookmarks" and then "Show All Bookmarks."
      • In the Library window, go to "Import and Backup" and select "Backup."
      • Save your bookmarks to a location on your computer.
[]After saving your bookmarks, you can try reinstalling Firefox to see if it resolves the save as function issue.

Save As Window in Firefox:

  • Unfortunately, the links provided to show how the "Save As" window looks are returning a 404 error. Could you provide more details or a description of the problem you're experiencing with the "Save As" window in Firefox?

    Issues with Internet Explorer:

    1. Internet Explorer Save As Issue:
      • If the save as function in Internet Explorer is working fine in the 64-bit version but not in the 32-bit version, you may want to ensure that both versions are properly configured. You can try resetting Internet Explorer settings to default.

Windows Live Messenger Error:

  1. Windows Live Messenger Error 800706be:
    • The error code 800706be indicates a problem related to Windows Update. You can try the following steps to resolve this issue:
      • Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter to fix any update-related problems.
      • Check for system file corruption by running the System File Checker tool. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the command sfc /scannow.
      • Make sure that all Windows updates are installed on your system.

        Additional Note:

      [
    • ]Since you are using a Windows 7 Evaluation Copy Build 7100, it's worth mentioning that this version of Windows is no longer supported by Microsoft, and it's recommended to upgrade to a newer supported version of Windows for security and stability reasons. Feel free to provide more details or ask for further assistance if needed!
