Recently I installed Windows 7 ultimate 64 bit on our client Acer 5742G, the PC is brand new, and we have a problem, when we try to shutdown, it`s going smooth, longing out, saving settings, shutdown, but after the "shutdown" (power off), it`s back to power on again and continuing to load windows 7, I tried to insert Hirens BootCD and load a live windows XP from it, tried to shutdown, same thing, also tried with live windows vista CD, same thing, maybe it`s hardware problem?

P.S. Bios flashed to newest, Windows 7 updated with newest hot-fixes, Video drivers, chipset drivers updated.

I will try to contact Acer service center in the morning, maybe they can help me.

Did you have any problems or get any messages during the original install? Did you install over the earlier OS?

If you open the Device Manager, do you show any devices with a yellow mark?

Does it do the same thing if you start in safe mode and shutdown from there?
