Forgive me if this is a duplicate post. I have looked around for a few hours and have yet to find anything dealing with this issue. I thought I had read a thread a couple of weeks ago dealing with the password/key not being accepted by windows 7 but cannot find it anywhere.

Anyway. I have my network setup as follows:

Vista PC connected to a Belkin N+ router and a dual booting XP/Windows 7 PC connecting via Linksys WUSB600N wireless adapter. Works fine on XP but Windows 7 will not connect because it thinks my passkey is invalid, wrong, etc. My wireless security is WPA 2 personal. I can connect without security turned on but would rather not. If anyone can direct me to the thread dealing with this or has a possible explanation and or fix then please, please let me know. Thanks so much for your time. Oh yes. I switched the wireless security to WEP and everything worked for a bit but then my connection started to drop alot so switched back and then back again to WEP with no luck. thanks!

Check Wireless Security Settings: - Confirm that the security settings on your router match the ones set on your Windows 7 PC. This includes encryption type (WPA2) and passkey. 4. Clear Preferred Networks: - Clear any saved networks on your Windows 7 PC and try reconnecting to your network, entering the passkey when prompted. 5. Reboot Router: - Sometimes, rebooting your Belkin N+ router can resolve connectivity issues. Turn it off, wait a few seconds, and then turn it back on. 6. Disable Security Temporarily: - As a troubleshooting step, you can temporarily disable the security on your network and see if Windows 7 connects without any issues. If it connects, then the problem might be related to the security settings. 7. Update Windows 7: - Ensure that your Windows 7 PC is up to date with the latest Windows updates. Sometimes, system updates can include fixes for connectivity issues. 8. Network Troubleshooter: - Use the built-in network troubleshooter in Windows 7 to diagnose and potentially fix network connection problems. Try these steps and see if they help resolve the issue with Windows 7 not accepting the passkey for your WPA 2 Personal wireless network. If the issue persists, feel free to provide more details, and we can further troubleshoot the problem.
