I am not really sure what might be wrong, but either you have some corruption in some folder, or a disagreement between comparing entities.

I would start by running a System File Check by opening an Administrative Command Prompt and typing SFC /scannow to see if it shows any problems.

You might also run a chkdsk to see if it would help with any data corruption.

If neither one of these things helps, I would rename the Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder. That will force the system to update itself. It will take some time, so be patient.

This looks like the most comprehensive link I can find. You have already done some of what is suggested, but you might look it over.

Unable to install updates in Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2008 R2

When you will get 0x800B0100 error code during update windows then you can fix it from the given steps below. I fix my pc from these steps. Open command prompt and run these commands. Press enter after each and every command.

regsvr32 Softpub.dll /s

regsvr32 Wintrust.dll /s

regsvr32 Initpki.dll /s

regsvr32 Mssip32.dll /s
