Windows fails to start and my computer is blank except for the cursor

Hi, does anyone know what I can do about this problem? Thanks.

That probably means the system is not looking in the right place for the boot files.

Can you get into the F8 menu and select "Repair My computer"?
Do you have a Repair CD or install DVD you could boot to and Repair Your system.

But you need to get into the "Startup Repair" and run it possibly 3 times to have it repair the system.
